Mobile Makerspaces

STEAM @ Your Library
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics

The Makerspace Boxes will enjoy a brief hiatus in January 2017 for rest and repair. Look for our new schedule in February!

We now have makerspaces available for you to use in these libraries:

» Panama City Beach Public Library

» Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Public Library in Port St. Joe

» Charles Whitehead Public Library in Wewahitchka

» Harrell Memorial Public Library in Bristol

» Jimmy Weaver Memorial Library in Hosford

Each makerspace contains a mixed collection of kits with specific STEAM themes. There are magnets, marbles, bridges, snap circuits, paint, and more!

The makerspaces are designed especially for children in grades K-5th, but include adventures in learning for everyone. Suggested ages range from 3 to 9 and up.

The makerspace boxes will rotate monthly (see schedule below). Visit your library with your library card to check out a kit to use in the library. You will be given a workspace and a box full of ideas. What happens next is up to you! You set up, you work, you mess up, you create, you learn, and you clean up.

We hope that while you are in the library, you will try something new, learn from your mistakes, and create something amazing!
